Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Marty has worked as a freelance musician in the music industry for over 30 years. He has travelled extensively throughout the globe working with world-class musicians as well as appearing on television, radio, and music videos for a variety of recording artists.

Although primarily working as a freelance drummer, Marty’s musical versatility has lead him to delve into song-writing and producing records. He has produced and engineered The River Poets EP and has also completed his debut album “Looking For You” on which he wrote, performed and produced all songs.

Marty acquired a Jazz and Contemporary music degree through Grant MacEwan and Humber College, studying with Brian Thurgood, Mark Kelso, Paul Delong, Ted Warren, Raymond Baril, David Occhipinti and Kieran Overs. He worked as a Musical Director and Showband drummer for Carnival Cruise Lines and has performed with Ollee Owens, The California Cure, River Poets, Coverband 101, Son of Ray, Brian Doerksen, The Shyr Poets, Chelsea Amber, Dana Marie, JAKE, Jill Paquette, Riley Armstrong, Matt Brouwer, Jaylene Johnson, Blake Paul, Christina Colyn, Leland Nelson, DC and the Struggle, Joel Pleasant, Raylene Scarrott, Johnny Summers, Mark Dejong, Chance Devlin, PJ Perry, Tommy Banks, John Stetch, and Kent Sangster.
